DG(Research)'s Profile

Dr. Syed Nasir Zaidi

Born on 11th March 1965, Dr. Syed Nasir Zaidi holds Masters (1995) and PhD (1996-2003) in Islamic Philosophy and Theology from University of Tehran , Iran. He did his MA(1991) Arabic from University of Punjab in addition to traditional Islamic Education (attained higher level) (1984-1995) from Al Mustafa International University, Qom Iran. His research interests are particularly in Classical and Modern Islamic Thought, Modern Theology, Comparative Philosophy and Mysticism. Dr. Nasir Zaidi held the post of Director General Research of Council of Islamic Ideology from 2007 to 2009. He served as a Resident scholar at Az-Zahraa Islamic Center, Vancouver, Canada for last one year (2009). Then in 2009 Council of Islamic Ideology is privileged again to have Dr. Nasir Zaidi as Director General Research. He is fluent in Urdu, Persian, Punjabi, Arabic, German and English.

Dr. Nasir Zaidi taught at:

  • Bonn University, Germany as Visiting Professor.
  • Islamic Research Institute, International Islamic University, Islamabad as Assistant Professor.

    Authored around twelve(12) Research articles Nationally and Internationally. Dr. Nasir Zaidi attended a number of National and International Conferences  on  issues as:
  • A series of 10 lectures on "Objective of life is Islamic Philosophy and Mystic Traditions", Al-Zahraa Islamic Center, Vancouver, Canada (Jan 2007).
