INTERNATIONAL CONSULTATIVE NETWORK
The participants in the International Workshop on
"Islamic Criminal Law in a Globalizing World" (May 26 - 28, 2005)
unanimously agreed to constitute themselves as an International Consultative
Network to
-
Help the Council in collecting information, documents and data on Islamic legislation in the Muslim World;

Help the Council in reaching a common ground for achieving consensus both on local and International levels viz-a-viz reactivating Islamic Legal Methodology and the doctrines of "Ijtihad" in the light of problems and challenges facing Muslim Ummah in the contemporary environment of a globalized world order;

The foreign members of the Network will extend help and cooperation to Council's delegations touring their countries in their task to achieve the above mentioned two objectives of the Network.

The Local/Pakistani members of the Network will share information, data, findings of research done as well as texts of Laws enacted in Pakistan involving Islamic system of Justice.

Also the Council (its members and Chairman being members of the Network) shall extend full cooperation to the foreign members of the Network in all of their activities, related to the objectives of the Network, while on visit to Pakistan.

The network shall be expanded further to include more members.
As a first step towards achieving the objectives of the Network, Members of the Council would embark, within the next few months (July - September, 2005), on study tour of various Muslim countries as well as Islamic Organizations working in certain non-Islamic Western countries. These tours are aimed at:

Benefiting from the experiences of other Islamic countries in the field of Islamic Legislation.

Signing of Memoranda of Understandings, during these tours, for cooperation and coordination, with Institutions/Organizations, assigned with functions similar to those of the Council of Islamic Ideology in other Islamic countries.

Another very important objective of these tours would be to bring all such Institutions/Organizations and personalities associated with them into the fold of the said International Consultative Network.
